REWARDHeat best practices and predesign tool

One of the main REWARDHeat objectives is the development of an open-source and free-available tool capable of providing predesign information of low- and neutral-temperature district heating systems.

The first steps towards this objective have been a detailed overview of existing best practice examples technologies implemented and waste heat and renewable energy sources exploited. All the relevant information gathered is being structured in a database.

The first version of the database, together with the preliminary results of the study have been presented by UNIZAG FSB at the Smart Energy Systems International Conference. The conference was organized as an online event on October 6th-7th 2020.

Once finalized, the database will drive the elaboration of the REWARDHeat predesign tool.
