Low-Temperature DHC as a Key Solution for Decarbonising the Heating and Cooling Sector

15 – 17 June 2022 Helsingborg, Sweden Hotel Marina Plaza, Helsingborg.

The REWARDHeat project organized a three-day event in Helsingborg, Sweden.

The main conference kicked off on Thursday, June 16th, with a morning session on 'Smart DHC Networks,' which examined the technological combinations most likely to fulfill future heat demand, with best practice examples from the Nordics, while the afternoon session focused on 'REWARDHeat DHC Investor Perspectives.'

The project intends to turn low-temperature DHC networks into a new asset class, making modern district energy solutions a viable investment option while also assisting the EU in meeting its climate goals.

International examples have been compared to Sweden's highly competitive DHC market.

Site visits took place on the days before and after the conference.

  • On Wednesday, June 15th, two special site visits have been held to showcase Helsingborg's DHC system.
  • On Friday, June 17th, site visits have been held in the city of Lund to demonstrate the low-temperature network, with transportation provided from Helsingborg.
